~ The Truth On The Internet

Posted: March 7th, 2006, by Bakkouz

Boys and Girls, Don’t beleive everything you read… While surfing the Internet yesterday i stumbled upon a thread that stated testimonials from contemporary western thinkers and famous public figures about the prophet mohammed admitting his honor, nobility and leadership, and i liked that particular thread and i thought i’d share it with you, it was a long thread with lots of quotes by people such as Professor Rama Chrishna Raw, The Canadian orientlist Dr. Zuwaimer, Mahatma Gandhi, The German orientlist Britly Saint Heller, Michael Hearts, Tolstoy and more others, it was good, However, being the kind of man i am, i decided to investigate a bit about some of these people that were mentioned and quoted.

So i warmed up my fingers and embarked on a swift cyber journey of investigation and picked three names from the top of the list, such as Professor Rama Chrishna Raw?, Dr. Zuwaimer? and Britly Saint Heller?, and i turned to the fountain of all knowledge, AKA Google and i searched for these names in order to verify and do a background check on them, and Lo and behold, the only results i came up with are from the same post i read only repeated and copied into different forums, no other mention of these people, at this point i got suspecious and (please forgive me for saying this) but i actualy doubted google for a split second before i regained my senses and decided to head for another source, and what better backup source for information than the Wikipedia, so i searched for these names in the Wiki and Yes as expected, i did not find any mention of these people in the wiki either, at this point i disregarded the above mentioned thread completely and stopped in my tracks, it did not matter to me nor did i care to investigate the other names on the list, the list is compromised and can’t be considred a reliabe source of information, not in my book, so i ask myself and i ask you, is what is written in the thread the truth? did they really say what they are quoted as have said? and most importantly, Who are those people, and why is there no mention of them? do they even exist?

Now, don’t get me wrong, i am a proud Muslim and it would make my heart happy to read such testimonails from great people like that and present them to the world, but only if they are verified, i refuse to read and re-publish something i’m not certain that is 100% correct, and nor should you, seriously i tell you, this is very very imprtant, DO NOT beleive everything you read, DO NOT trust just any source, Always try and verify what you get in your email, or what you read online or in a magazine or newspaper, or even what you hear from people, I have read numerous emails that stated stuff i knew for a fact wasnt’ true but other people didn’t and started circulating them all over the place, SPREADING BAD KNOWLEDGE IS BAD, DON’T DO IT! rumors and false claims can be devastating no matter how unharmful they seem, its like imagine if i make up this beautiful hadith and start spreading in all over the web, i am sure many people will just taken for granted even though it was not by the prophet mohammed but the mohammed the internet geek, do you see where i’m getting at with this? Please my friends, i beg of you, do not take anything for granted, always check and verify for yourselves.

Thank you and god bless.

~ A Dove At My Window And Dejavu

Posted: March 6th, 2006, by Bakkouz

This is exactly what i have at home, a beautiful white dove has decided to setup her nest at the edge of my kitchen window, and i’ve decided to take care of it while it lays on the eggs by feeding it some bread crumbs and seeds, its the least i can do for my beautiful unexpected visitor that decided to give life to its babies in my home, whenever i look at him just sitting there standing still for hours to no end, it fills me with a feeling of contentment and peace and i can’t wait to see the tiny fragile chicks hatch out and witness the marvelous begining of a new life.

Peace and Love

Which brings me to another thing i was thinking about the other day, reincarnation, did we exist before in different forms? is our soul immortal and keep changing from body to body? and does this explain De Javu? or always returning to famliar things and situations we have are will know. Like when you meet someone new and feel that you’ve known them for years?

~ Dial Up Go To Hell

Posted: March 6th, 2006, by Bakkouz

Well then, I installed my new phone line yesterday and it was good, i bought a new shiny phone and installed it and initiated it by calling Brazil, actualy i didn’t, but i wish i did, you see i used to know this really awesome girl from brazil and we used to talk on the phone sometimes, but then she moved to Germany then San Francisco so technicaly i should have called her in SF but i don’t know her number there, ehem, so anyways, i called my parents, then Janoz and then i tried calling some friends and none of them answered afterwards i immediately proceeded to connect my self to the world wide web, i was happy for a moment until i actualy started using the internet, i’ve been using broadband for so long i actualy i forgot how much dialup access sucked! its terrible, its very slow and it keeps disconnecting for no aparent reason, god’s mercy be upon those who use dialup and/or depend on it for their daily affairs.

Slow Internet Will Kill You!

So anyways, There is no way in hell i’m gonna keep on using dialup cuase it will be the end of me i swear, it took like 10 minutes yesterday just to install a lousy flash player on IE, now don’t get me wrong, i hate IE to death and i don’t and will never use it becuase as you know IE is Evil !! i just had to install it to be able to see a dynamic avatar on MSN Messenger, so anyways, i will be getting braodband as soon as i settle on a decent ISP, right now i’m leaning more towards TE data cuase they are cheaper than Wanadoo. so hopefully i will get the ADSL up and running before the end of the week! so i’m keeping my fingers crossed Please!

And now, for something completely differenet, One day, after a man had his annual physical, the doctor came out and said, “You had a great checkup. Is there anything that you’d like to talk about or ask me?” “Well,” he said, “I was thinking about getting a vasectomy.” “That’s a pretty big decision. Have you talked it over with your family?” “Yeah, and they’re in favor 15 to 2.” LOL

~ Phone Lines And The Paranormal

Posted: March 5th, 2006, by Bakkouz

Whats the relation between phone lines and the paranormal? Well, Me, and i’ll tell you how, you see i’ve had a paranormal experiene myself the other day, It was a nice warm night without a breeze in the air, i was all alone at home and the clock has just turned 12 midnight, I was watching tv and i got bored and decided to go to sleep, i went to the kitchen and drank a cup of water straight from the tap, and like i always do and just incase i wake up later at night feeling thirsty i re-filled the cup with water (also from the tap) and went back to my bed, i left the light on like i always do and went to sleep, i woke up later that night i don’t know how many hours later, anyways i woke up thirsty, i reached for the cup, drank the water until the cup was empty and put the cap back where it was on the stand, I went back to my bed, closed my eyes and tried to sleep again, and after a minute or two i heard a crashing sound, it was faint so i didn’t identify it immeditaly, the first thing that crossed my mind was that the light bulb had exploded due to extreme heat or something and i looked at it and it was fine, (ofcourse being the genious i am i should have realised it wasn’t the light blub since the light was on heh but i was half asleep so this doesn’t count :P ) so anyways after i figured it wasn’t the light blub i looked around to find out the source of that strange sound, and it was then that i layed my eyes on the glass that i left a minute ago on the stand, and i was surprised to see that the glass has shattered into a million pieces, it wasn’t a crack and it didn’t get broken in half or anything, it literally exploded and shattered into a million pieces, this strange incident didn’t freak me out as much as it did intrigue me, i wondererd what could have cuased the glass to explode in such a manner and i couldn’t come up with a single good reason, can you?

What?!

And now, Phone lines, well the only connection between my little paranormal phenomenon and the phone lines is that i’m getting a new phone line connected to my apartment today yay and hopefuly very soon i will have the ADSL installed :D

YAY !!

(That is not me in the photo by the way :P )

~ Make Poverty History

Posted: March 3rd, 2006, by Bakkouz

I would like to begin this by quoting a great man, Sir Bob Geldof :

To die of hunger in a world of surplus is not only intellectualy absurd but also moraly repulsive ”

How true, it is indeed rediculous how much people die of hunger everyday all over the globe whereas other people live in an abundance of wealth and fotune, most of them naturaly in the western world, in the same countries that call themselves democratic and call for liberty, equality, human rights and justice for all !? Truth be told though, as a general rule, the rich don’t care about the poor, poverty can be ended, it is not a dream it is a fact, i’m not saying that rich people should give up their wealth in favour of the poor, but help out, seriuosly and sencerely help out, donate some substantial amounts of money to charities and don’t go around buying poor people in theird world countries toys and purses and makeup like you sometimes do, you big fat racist hypocrite , it also not enough to donate books computers and libararies, what is more important is to help people live, feed the people and create jobs for them.

I do not claim to have the solution to world hunger, i just know deep down in my heart that it can be ended if we all stick together and act like humans, Now, I’ve been involved with the one campaign for some time now, and Yesterday, One.org launched the new ONE campaign Click Spot, reaching millions on the internet and featuring some of the biggest names in music and Hollywood, including Tom Hanks, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Jamie Foxx, Cameron Diaz, Kate Hudson, Penelope Cruz, Gwen Stefani, Dave Matthews, Coldplay, Sean P. Diddy Combs, 50 Cent and Bono!

You can watch the video and then take action today! Take one minute and sign a letter asking Congressional leaders to help fight AIDS and poverty!

Like you, the famous faces featured are part of the fight against global AIDS and extreme poverty. From NASCAR races to church basements to Hollywood, Americans are working together to help save lives. Together as ONE, we can do even more.

Watch the new ONE video and then do your part, Yes, even you can help out by signing ONE letter to Congress today!

For more information on how you can be part of the One Campaign to make poverty history Check out the One.org website.

~ The Talibani The Jew And Our Football Team

Posted: March 2nd, 2006, by Bakkouz

Ok, first of all, the football team, Do you think we will ever have a football team that is good enough to satisfy the Jordanian public and enhance our image? When Captain Johari first began coaching the Jordanian national football team years ago we’ve noticed a sudden improvement in the team’s performance and all of the sudden it began winning games, what an achievment, it was truely a pleasent change, and the team moved in ranks in the world football federation classification and things seemed to head for the best, and we though the old times of winning just for the sake of participation is behind us and we now actualy have a team that could seriously compete and perhaps win tournaments, and things were good.

But then we noticed a decline in the team’s accomplishments and until finaly things turned negative and the team went into opposite direction, it stopped winning and indeed starting losing, it’s been a long time since our team has made a noticable win that is worthy of mention, and it looks like its slipping back to the dark pit of selfish uncareness and dull existance that it used to dwell in. and so i ask, what the hell is happening?

And on a lighter note:

A fleeing taliban, desperate for water, was plodding through the Afghanistan desert when he saw something far off in the distance. Hoping to find water, he walked toward the object, only to find a little old Jewish man sitting at a card table with neckties laid out on it.

The talibani asked, “My thirst is killing me. Do you have water?”

The Jewish man replied, “I have no water. Would you like to buy a tie? They are only $150. This one goes very nicely with your robes.”

The talibani shouted, “You idiot! I do not need an overpriced tie. I need water!”

“OK,” said the old Jew, “it does not matter that you do not want to buy a tie. I will show you that you have not offended me. If you walk over that hill to the east for about two miles, you will find a lovely restaurant. Go! Walk that way! The restaurant has all the water you need!”

The talibani staggered away toward the hill and eventually disappeared. Four hours later the talibani came crawling back to where the Jewish man was sitting at his table.

The Jew said, “I told you, about two miles over that hill. Could you not find it?

“I found it all right,” rasped the talibani. “But your brother won’t let me in without a tie.”

LOL
