~ How Beautiful You Are Amman.

Posted: April 2nd, 2006, by Bakkouz

So, How are you all doing? How was your day? Hasn’t today been a wonderful day? I decided to go downtown today, and the fact that it was raining only made me want to head out even more, As i walked in the pouring rain, with my trusty umbrella in hand, and my headphones on, James blunt sung “You’re beautiful” on my walkman, people of all ages running around racing to get to their destinations trying hopelessly to avoid the rain, while i stood there at the corner besides Snack 22 and sipped my hot cup of coffee i just bought, it was indeed beautiful, and surreal.

Ofcourse i had to do some shopping and haggling, As one must, I must say, i really missed the fast rythm and fast pace of living in the big city, as opposed to the slow laydback life of my little town, Aqaba. Well, i walked and walked throughout my old favourite hangouts, Starting from Raghadan and ending in Sagf il sail, my feet and lower pants got soaked, but it was an experience i really missed, if only it was snowing.. it would have been perfect! I then grabbed a cab, i waited for a long time for it but finally i managed to spot a vacant one, and headed out to Weibdeh, i wanted to check out some bookstores, i asked him to drop me off at the bus station so i may walk around some and check out the beautiful old houses of Amman.. brings back some fine memories..
have you ever just stopped to look at the beauty of amman? the beautiful people, the beautiful homes, the old bookstores, the air filled with the aroma of history and tradition?
If not, then you should, you don’t know what you’re missing…

But i suppose up till now the best part of my visit was meeting with Batir Wardam, It was my first time meeting him face to face even though i could’ve sworn i saw him once in Aqaba, Like i told him even though i have fish memory which spans to 10 seconds tops, i never forget a face, Anyways, he invited me to a cup of mochachino (This was the first time i have this lovely drink, it was absolutely fabulous) over at Librairie de Paris on the Square de Paris in Weibdeh, The same place where the next JP meet will be held, We sat down and chatted for some time, about an hour or and hour and a half if memroy serves me right, and I had a really Great time, Thank you Batir :)

After that, he dropped me off at the 8th circle where i went to visit a friend but turns out he had to go out for some soft of an emergency business.. or maybe he blew me off,, God knows! so i headed out to Jad’s place to check up on him and see how he’s doing… and I’m glad to report that he’s still alive n kickin ;)

Well, i suppose thats it for now, i guess you’re fed up with my babbling, If you’ve continued to read on to this point, i salute you :D .. i’m gonna go get dressed now and head over to Jano and Fatoom’s… See ya Later .

~ Uber Funny Bush Humor

Ok, I’ve seen loads and loads of cartoons flash movies and videos Of George W. Bush Humour and Satire, but this one beats them all, One of the funniest things i’ve seen in a long time:

http://www.ebaumsworld.com/presaddress2.shtml

I mean, Say what you will about George, a war criminal, a disaster to the economy, or a murderer, it doesn’t matter, and i know it isn’t really politicaly correct of me to say this but the fact remains that he’s brought us (who have not been directly affected by his idiotic fascist regime) endless hours of fun…

Thank you George…

~ Typical Work Day And A Survey

Posted: March 29th, 2006, by Bakkouz

I woke up very late today, I usualy don’t mind at all nor care about being late but today i woke up far too late, I had to grab a taxi to work, since there are no other means of transportation to my workplace, By the way, isn’t it funny how when you need a taxi not a single one comes, but when you don’t need one dozens of them pass by you and honk at you begging you to jump in? so anways, i headed for work which is located about 30 KM south of Aqaba city, just around the corner from the Saudi border, I arrived at work at 9 AM (the work day at our company starts at 7 AM), And as soon as i entered the office i was hit by a couple of phone calls from two managers asking me why the internet isn’t working? and while i lied to my teeth telling them that i was performing routine system maintenance on it, i pinged the server and it did not respond, the stench of trouble filled the air, i went over to the other building where the server room is, i looked at the internet server and there it was, NTLDR is missing, Yay lucky me! I did a quick repair and it was back up again, I R TEH WINDOWS 2003 SERVER MASTAH … I hurried to the office for the need for caffiene was strong and i was about to crumble, i sat down and launched firefox and i had not yet put my fingers on the keybord before i got a phone call from a secretary complaining to me about how i’ve installed a broken CD-Drive on her PC, i asked her whats wrong and she says she got a CD of a celebration of mothers day and its not working, i ask her if other CD’s are working fine, she says yes, I told her i’ll stop by later to take a look, it was probably a missing codec or she’s using the wrong media player or something, I’ll check it out for later… someday… And then i got a call from Jano telling me that she lost the passwords to her emails, and you know what? she could have gotten them back easily if hotmail wasn’t so stupid and retarded ! DIE HOTMAIL DIE :(
You know what, screw this, i’m fed up with talking about work, Work sucks, Work is for Fools and is completely unnecessary I say, i shall have to write about this issue some day, but you know what, it really pays off to plan your day:

  • AND NOW FOR THE SURVEY, Take a look at the clock i have set up at the top left of the page, do you think that A) its silly and stupid and i should remove it faster than you can say George W. Bush is an idiot.. OR .. B) Its Cool and functional and i should defenitely keep it…. What say you?

Ok, time for some fun, Do you think you have fast reflexes and reactions? Take this test and find out!

~ Stay Hungry Stay Foolish

Posted: March 28th, 2006, by Bakkouz

Aqaba, March 28th, the clock struck 2 AM as bakkouz delved deep into the belly of the internet, on a rampage of downloading frenzy, trying to extract as much as humanly possible from the realms of the web before the sultan of sleep commanded and i was compelled to answer, and as my hunger for food was matched by my hunger for information I halted for a second to inspect my newly acquired bits and pieces of Media, And i came upon a treasure, it was an audio file, a speech by a man who goes by the name of Steve Jobs, and for those of you who do not know who this guy is, Steve Jobs is an Ungraduated man who went on to establish and head some of the bigger names in the computing world today, such as Apple, which he co-founded in 1976, and Pixar, the Academy-Award-winning animation studios which he co-founded in 1986. and he is currently CEO of both.

‘Stay Hungry.Stay Foolish, You’ve got to find what you love,’ says Jobs, in his Commencement Speech delivered at stanford university, at first when i played this file, i really wasn’t expecting much, i thought it to be just another lecture on the computing industry, yet it turned out to be a truely inspiring life story, I found it to be simply amazing, i have had heared of Steve Jobs before, but now after i’ve listened to this speech, i have a newly found deep respect for the guy, i only wish i had the guts and courage to do what he did, So now my friends, i invite you also to read and listen carefuly to what this man has to say, its a true story of hope and deliverance, it will change your prespective on life and hopefuly strike a cord in you that will drive you to to go out there, and find what you love and excel at it, indeed there are many lessons to be learned from this speech, read it, listen to it, and understand it well.

> Click here for a Transcript Of the speech.

> Click here To download it in audio format. (note: you will need WinRAR to unzip the file)

Trust me guys, you really want to get this one, it may take a while to download if you have a slow connection, but its really worth the wait.
