Why Bluehost Is The Most Aweful Hosting Company In the Universe.

I have talked before about Bluehost, The so called hosting company, and how much they SUCK! Now, I’ve always had issues with Bluehost and their shitty hosting service, but I stayed with them for a number of reasons, mostly because they were cheap and I thought I’d endure it since my previous problems were due to high influxes of traffic that caused my bandwidth usage to soar through the roof, causing Bluehost to temporarily suspend my account until the traffic rates returned to normal. Now, even though I resented that and loathed it, I kind of understood since it is after all a shared hosting plan, which means that the effects my very high influxes of traffic would slow down the server my website hosted on dramatically, and this will not only affect my website but other websites hosted on the same server as well, This I understand. at that time though I did not realize just how many websites were hosted on the same server as me, not until recently, but before I go into that and show you just why Bluehost sucks ass!, let me tell you why I decided to finally give up on Bluehost and switch to a decent hosting company.
About a couple of month ago, my website suffered a high surge of traffic, and when I say high, I mean very very high, it was caused by the hoards of students wanting to know their Tawjihi results since bakkouz.net is the first result on Google when you search for the tawjihi results. Anyway, the website went down, which was understandable. I knew this would happen, but I did not expect what would happen after.
I was on the bus on my way to Amman when I was informed by Jano that the website is suspended, I did not think much of it since I was familiar with this kind of action by Bluehost before, ie; suspended the account temporarily due to “cpu exceeded” issues. but she told me that this was not the case, and that the error message read something else, and in fact the whole account seems to be suspended. when I returned home I checked it out, and sure enough my whole account was suspended, the websites are not working, I could not even log on to my contol panel, they basically shutdown my account. and I could not do anything about it, they basically locked me out the threw out the key. they didn’t send me any notice, or warning or any kind of notification. they just simply closed down my account and that was that.
Now, to cut a very very long story short, I suffered tremendously with their customer support who refused to acknowledge that the problem was temporary and was due to surge in traffic and insisting that it was a fault within my site and insisting time after time that I fix my website .even though I COULDN’T FRICKIN ACCESS ANY PART OF MY WEBSITE, NOT EVEN THE CONTROL PANEL. AND THEY KNEW IT! HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO “FIX IT” IF I CAN’T EVEN ACCESS IT?! anyways, I finally deiced to give in and humor them just to get my site working again. and after DAYS of contacting them via support tickets, live chat, and phone calls, I managed to get my account working again, but that was the final straw for me, it was right there and then at that very moment that I decided that enough was enough, I’m switching to another Hosting company. and finally decided on Mediatemple. they are more expensive, but their GridSerive hosting plan should accommodate me just fine and I will be ready and able to handle any high traffic surges in the future ( or so I hope :p ).
Anyways… Back to the main topic of Bluehost’s massive suckiness… So the other day I was fiddling around with this website, that has a cool Reverse IP DNS tool, which basically can tell you how many websites are hosted on a single server, I decided to check out Bakkouz.net which is currently hosted with Mediatemple, I entered Bakkouz.net’s IP and the results was 18 websites. (18 websites hosted on a single server isn’t bad at all, espcially considering that Mediatemple employs GridService hosting which means that in case of high loads on a website they balance the load by distributing the traffic onto other servers.) as shown in the chart below:

Now I thought why not check out my previous server hosted with Bluehost…. the result was astounding!
660 Websites!! thats SIX HUNDRED AND SIXTY WEBSITES on a single server !! holy jumping bananas!
no wonder their servers die at the slightest hint of high traffic, How pathetic is that, I mean, Ok its shared hosting, but 660 sites?! this is just ridiculous!
(Chart below, cut down due to its massive length)

So there you have folks. sorry for the long post.
