My Epic Ramadan Post!

You know, I love Ramadan as much as the next guy, but there are some things in Ramadan I am not too fond of, for example, in Ramadan, people just focus all their mental and physical abilities on fasting and do nothing else like a total system shutdown, only worse. you know what I’m talking about, but on the other hand, they keep on bugging the hell out of anyone who did not fast for whatever reason, and treat him like an infedel and make him wear a silly banana shaped hat and make him hop around the village on one leg with one hand over his head and the other rubbing his tummy. I mean, OMG why can’t people leave him alone!!! OMG!

One thing that bugs me the most in Ramadan is people wasting food in insane proportions, Why do people have to waste so much food in Ramadan, like their all multi-millionaires. cause we all know how multi-millionaires don’t give a damn about extra food. eh? since when is Ramadan about eating? i’ll tell you since when, since NEVAR! but nooo.. they’re all like.. MOAR MOAR!! Ramadan is about sacrifice and worshiping God. thats what its about. and speaking of sacrifice, have you noticed how the country goes into a complete standstill in Ramadan? and everybody becomes grumpy like its bill paying time x 1000! like this funny Abu Mahjoob cartoon:
abu mahjoob ramadan
come to think of it, why do we even need shorter working hours in Ramadan? WHY? why can’t it be just a regular day, 9-5 or 7-3 or 8-4 or whatever?! Not that I really mind shorter work hours, but still, WHY!!?

Another thing that seems to have become a Ramadany habit is lots of fun time and not much prayer time, like the obsession with argeeleh and playing cards! What a phenomenon! its like the national argeeleh-cards month-long competition! I mean come on people, what about worshiping God! I mean ok having fun is alright i suppose, but still, make the best of your time people. Ramadan is not all about play and food.

speaking of which, check out this lovely dish: (damn that almost rhymed)

lovely dish

I have no idea what it is or how to make it, but I’m sure its lovely and tasty. and looks sort of easy to prepare, unlike when Maioush tried to make some Rice.

Aaanyway, one thing that cannot be disputed is that TV channels air some good TV shows in Ramadan, which makes people become obsessed with watching their favorite show, much like a cult following, Me for example, I might watch Bab El-hara since I’m not too much into historical and Bedouin shows (not that I have anything against Bedouin and/or historical shows, I really don’t, seriously  ) and what not. I guess you can watch whatever you want to, but FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT WATCH JORDANIAN TELEVISION COMEDY AND GAME SHOWS, especially the ones right after the “athan”, unless you suddenly felt the need to get a stroke. I am being 100% sincere here, Don’t!

I guess thats it for now, I might after the Eid write something about the “silliness of just visiting someone who was at your house 10 minutes ago and how one dies from the sweets and coffee we have to endure and how young couples escape to Aqaba or something….” u know.

Alright then, now that this shenanigan of a post is over, I must say that I do not take full credit for it since it was inspired and based on 7aki’s post, and I spiced it up a bit, just to write the ultimate post she mentioned :P
Thank you 7aki.
