If you are wondering why the internet has been uber slow in Jordan the past couple of days, It is because the submarine fiber optic link between Alexandria, Egypt and Marseilles, France has encountered some technical problems, The transcontinental link known as SEAMEWE4 connects South East Asia, Middle East and West Europe.

It is unclear when the services will be fully restored, however it is expected that the fiber optic line would be repaired within 10 to 15 days. This outage has affected Jordan, Egypt and most of the gulf countries including Saudi Arabic, Kuwait and the UAE.
