~ Nadim Sawalha from Captain Abu Raed Snags Best Actor Award on DIFF.
I just caught this on TV!(dubai one channel), The Muhr Awards for The Best Actor on Dubai International Film Festival went to UK-based Jordanian actor Nadim Sawalha for his role in Captain Abu Raed, where he plays an airport janitor who befriends a group of children in his poor neighborhood.
This is Great news, Congratulations for Mr. Sawalha and of course to the young Jordanian Director Amin Matalqa.

Great start. the real test will be Europe’s A festivals like Berlinale, Cannes, Venice , Athens, Locarno, Tampere. Would have been nice if Captain Abu Raed won best film or director or writer. but hard to ignore Nadeem’s performance.

Samar: I totally Agree, We wished the movie itself had won for best movie or best director, but still this is a great achievment.
