~ Are you ready for the end of days?

This is just a quick reminder that the The world is coming to an end very, very soon. in just about 5 years in fact.

Yes, the world will end on 2012, according to the Mayan long term calendar. The Mayan civilization was extremely advanced in mathematics, engineering and astronomy and with faultless logic determined astronomical cycles that began 26,000 years ago will align precisely the same on that day. some believe cataclysmic events will take place in 2012 with the ultimate destruction occurring on December 21, 2012. Others believe that the world will not end, but instead humanity will enter a new age.. What will happen exactly nobody knows, however there have been many theories, including:

- As we pass through transition there is a colossal, global convergence of environmental destruction, social chaos, war and ongoing Earth changes.
- The Earth will undergo a magnetic field shift, reversing the polarity of the planet.
- An asteroid or comet will collide with the Earth.

Of course some of these predictions are just prophecies, but some are FACTS:
- NASA predicts that the Sun will also reverse its own magnetic poles during 2012 as result of reaching the end of the current 11-year sunspot cycle.
- In 2012, asteroid 99942 Apophis comes into view again to recalculate odds of impact.
- Terence McKenna’s mathematical novelty theory suggests a point of singularity in which humankind will go through a great shift in consciousness.

oh, and here’s another brain teaser for you:
The ancient Hindu’s mainly used lunar calendars but also used solar calendars. If an average lunar year equals 354.36 days, then this would be about 5270 lunar years from the time when the Kali Yuga started until 21 Dec 2012, the year that the Mayans predict rebirth of our planet; and it is also about 5113 solar years of 365.24 days per year.

well, how about that!

Now, putting all that aside, and returning to the good old Mayan folk, I personally tend to believe these guys, I mean, anybody who can scribble down a calender of 26,000 years with precise accuracy has got to know what he’s talking about, and to have them suddenly stop at at a precise and exact date and declare it as the end of humanity as we know it, well, one has to consider that very very carefully, won’t you agree?

oh, and before you question my source and ask me where i got my info from, Google and Wikipedia are you friends :P

And you know what, judging from the looks of things and happenings on our dear planet, on all levels, be it social, economical, environmental or other wise, things don’t look too encouraging at all, and i’m not even going to mention the biblical and Islamic references to Armageddon which all indications point out that its coming very soon.

So yeah, get your act together before it is too late

Hmm, did it occur to you that the Mayan’s decided to stop at this date because maybe someone said, Who Cares I’m not going to live till then. Someone else will finish this!

I think this is just another Y2K hoax! It’s like saying, “The last day on the Windows Calendar is October 17 2038. Therefore the world is going to end then”

One thing is sure, The world as people know it keeps changing and evolving. Change is the only constant

    File this under bunch-o-malarkey.

2012 has been discussed at length in astronomical forums. Before that there was 2008 and 2006 … and 2000.

I am sure there were others before that but we didn’t have blogs to learn about them.

If the mayans were that good, they would at least still exist. they should have predicted their own demise before predicting it for the whole planet.

The Mayans demise didn’t happen because of environmental changes to the planet earth, the spanish conquests wiped them out. they didn’t prophesies, their predictions of the future were based on mathematical and astrological calculations.

Denial is the most predictable of all human responses. But, rest assured, this will be the sixth time we have destroyed it, and we have become exceedingly efficient at it.

The problem with the human race is that we always keep worrying about the end of days.

We should all just keep doing what we do everyday and wait till 2012 to see if the world ends.

The End of Days has already been predicted by over a gazillion people a gazillion times.

Why do we give so much importance to this?

Man that was one heck of a movie, Arnold really was on a roll. Oh your not talking about the movie?

Well I think the end of days is only going to happen after like what say million years. I dont care what is going to happen tomorrow, like I would care about something that is million years away.
