it’s not fair to play this moral equivelance game.

this is exactly what the jews want. occupation and aparhteid dehumenize the victims and cause all sorts of social problems and breed an unhealthy environment for children. have you tried to live in an environment where people around get killed daily and you can never win justice for them. do you realize how devestating this notion of murder without justice can have on the values of victims?

and what is the excuse of Israel, a wealthy nuclear state that proclaims to be a western democracy.

There is such a thing as cause and effect. the violent conduct of Israel towards non-jews has radicalized palestinian society.

Here is a simple example to illustrate my point. Walk down the street and slap someone in the face. chances are they will punch you back.

a jew would say the man’s punch proves the man is evil and needed to be slapped as a premtive strike. sounds bizzare but this is the gist of the jewish argument.

I noticed how the palestinian kids were being prodded into their hamas act and seem reluctant or puzzled, but the jewish kids seem to be doing it voluntarily and relishing it too. hard not to see the difference.

the other key difference is that the palestinian act does not imply anything, but the jewish kids sending bombs and sig. When was the last time a palestinian kid committed an attack against jewish kids?

but the bombs the jewish kids are signing are on the battle front and on their way to kill arabs.

there are so many differences in the nature of the photos that it take so much complicity to conceal or great lack of wit to miss.

i sometimes hate dwelling on the specifics…it’s like defining a whole conflict based on one snapshot of it. it reveals little.

as for these pics…obviously both are wrong. for the second, reflecting the reality of occupation and resistance…this is a reality we’re supposed to be struggling to get out of not embracing. passing down that fatalist message to the next generation is just sad and depressing.

Just for some context on the first picture. A reuters photgrapher was near an Israeli artillery post in the north, near a small town, where there were artillery shells being taken to the front. And there were kids there. So she asked the kids, while giving them a marker, to write things on the shells. Amongst other slogans were simple names and graffiti, etc.

    Staged photo…

great, comparing Hamas with Israeli army.

Im impressed from the new trends of Arab bloggers, and Im not so surprised.

7amas are defending themselves, even if by bombing their selves.

I don’t know why Im even bothering writing this comment.
