Alright, first of all let it be clear that I am a stright out die hard Photoshop guy, to me photoshop is the perfect piece of software, period. However, after trying out Paint.NET I found it to be a fabulous piece of software, this little program is packed with fantastic features such as layers, unlimited undo, special effects and a wide variety of useful and powerful tools. it’s like photoshop for novices, something that has the tools to get more stuff done, with a simple enough interface, and best of all, its FREE and Small (3.6 MB) , so if you want to do some basic photo editing tasks like cropping or brightness/contrast and sizing, this is the best tool for you, and it doesn’t need a fast machine or anything, It launches fast and also performs better than most other free image editing softwares out there.

That doesn’t mean i’m uninstalling photoshop anytime soon though, but Paint.NET is defenitly worth noticing.

    I’m so excited man…. This is seriously one fantastic venture if you noticed, (it’s free, and source code is available) And done right here :) with 100% university student work …
    I was going to write about it … but I guess I’ll just point to this article …

    I agree with you, Paint.Net is a great piece of S/W, free and supported by a huge community!
