Quwaider, there is Ayna.comin the others category, and let’s not forget that both Google and Yahoo support Arabic.
The funny bit is here:
Although Maktoob claims* that as “Araby.com is born in the Arab World” it understands Arabic far better than a search engine that is a prototype of a foreign language search engine. Bull shit!!! Maktoob bought its engine from a “foreign” company in Scandinavia. Actually, the same one Ayna bought its new engine from. It is a good engine and the “foreign” company is a leader in the industry but this means:
1- Maktoob is pulling wool over Arab eyes by claiming the best service on both counts technology and origin: i.e. it can’t be the best because it uses the same technology as the other engine and it can’t be the best because it is “born in the Arab world” as it is using a non-Arab technology full end-to-end solution.
2- Araby.com is not the first engine as Ayna has already been there for a while.
Amma masskhara!
