~ Having Older Brothers Increases a Man's Odds of Being Gay
Now this is just rediculous, especialy for us in the arab world who mostly tend to have large families, I don’t know why these “sceientist” waste there time on this kind of research:
The number of biological older brothers a boy’s mother has carried–whether they live with him in the same household or not–affects his chances of being gay. The findings, reported this weekin the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences,by Anthony Bogaert of Brock University, lend credence to the theory that it’s not the social or rearing factors that influence a man’s sexual orientation, but rather prenatal mechanisms that begin in the womb.

He he he .. yeah , I read that.
It’s just like that white house report that classified homosexuality as a disease! Imagine this
-Hey boss … sorry I can’t come to work today, I’m feeling a little gay!
LOL

*sigh*
Why feel threatened by a scientific study? Surely it’s not suggesting YOU’re gay. But there are plenty of gay Arabs out there. Unfortunately, a lot of them are threatened with ostracism or even murder, so they stay buried in the closet.
I have a friend from Jordan who’s gay, and he’s still going to marry some poor woman and make her extremely unhappy, all because he wouldn’t want to disappoint his conservative mother, or get beaten up by his threatening father. It’s sad. It’s the same BS all over again in Ukraine.
Frankly, I’m tired of homophobia. I look at the world, and I feel tired in general.

Questioon to Natalia if you do’t mind Bakkouz,
Do you think a gay man would be a good lover? And would he possibly be able to be in touch with more with his female side to the point where he has an advantage over regular men when it comes to women?
Maybe he can be both!?
June 30th, 2006 at 1:33 pm
Bakkouz,
The way I see it is its just one more study with an agenda trying to make everyone believe that Gay is physichal condition that you are born with rather than just being stupid and horney and couldn’t get any girls.
I always wondered, if Gay men like their partner to be tough like man, and they themselves are girly; and on the otherside, gay women like their partner to be girly and they themselves are rough like a woman. WHY NOT JUST MARRY EACH OTHER!!???

Typo, line before the last one should be “are rough like a man”
.

Sari, well, they do actualy marry each other :)
Qwaider, i never heard about it being classifed as a disease but thats seriously funny man LOL gal i’m feeling abit gay hehe, but you know what, no matter how gay a man can be he can’t get “in touch with his feminine side”, I mean seriously, men don’t have a feminine side, no matter if gay or not, its physicilay not possible, they don’t have the right hormones nor the right “equipment”.
and Natalie, its not about being homophobic, it about making sense, in my openion being gay is a mental condition that can change depending on the circumnstances and the variables involved.

Hmmm..
“in my openion being gay is a mental condition that can change depending on the circumnstances and the variables involved.”
If that was the case, believe me gay people would be the first to try to change that, since they suffer a lot in such a homophobic world. I think humans need an explanation for everything, and won’t live their lifes without labels. It’s like okay.. you’re gonna prove being gay is genetic or not, anddd?
Then what?
Burn all gay people? Accept them? Look them in the eye and say “AHA! We were right.”
I don’t know about you but I think a person should be capable of living his life without any labels, it’s pretty much easier that way.

Amino, They can change if they want to, but they don’t, they like being a victom of society, they want to be “unique”, they need it.
There is no such thing as a fixed human state, emotions change, feelings change, a persons character and personality can change, so why not his sexual preference?

Qwaider, why would any self-respecting woman choose to share her bed with a man who is not interested in her body? Remember, there is a world of difference between a GAY man and a BISEXUAL. A gay man is not sexually aroused by females. Period.
Oddly enough, I did date a bisexual guy, and he was the WORST lover I’ve ever had. And he had a horrid reputation; as it turned out later, I was not the only one disappointed in him. Perhaps there are bisexual guys out there who skilled with women, but not in my limited experience.
Also, I do not speak for all women, but I personally find it odd that any woman would want a man to find his “female side” in bed? What does that mean to you anyway? Maybe we have semantics getting in the way, but personally, I want my man to be a MAN in bed. If I wanted a woman, I would go out and find a woman. I’m straight for a reason.
Bakkouz, obviously, I see no evidence that homosexuality can be “cured” or that it’s even a disease to begin with. I think nature works in mysterious ways, and gay people, pose no threat to “traditional” sexuality. :)

You said it, Natalia! Good job setting these people on the right path!

“I don’t know why these “scientist” waste there time on this kind of research”
I have become convinced that medical and social science studies are not done by scientists but by drunken frat boys. No one at the journals knows because they can’t understand stats or the logic behind them. Anytime a study relies on statistic to draw a conclusion it is almost always wrong.

The WashingtonPost recently ran an article titled “Owning His Gay Identity — at 15 Years Old” - http://www.washingtonpost.com/.....02066.html
The Pro Gay movement continues to hope to make themselves main stream. The scientists drive me nuts too!
