Have people ever held a high opinion of you in an area where you felt it wasn’t warranted?

I’ve had a few people now tell me how clever I am. It makes no sense, because I’m really not that clever. I don’t know if they’re saying it just to make me feel good about myself, or if they really just assume that I’m clever for no reason whatsoever, i’m not saying i’m not clever at all, i guess i just catch on things quickly and i come to realize the obvious in problems fast, but does that make me clever?

Does that ever happen to you? Do people think you’re soooo cute, but you just don’t see it? Ever had someone tell you how deep you were, when you’re just joking around? :o

I don’t want people to get down on themselves here, but really, do people give you more credit than you deserve?
